Although reports indicated that the Red Sox were meeting with Montgomery's agent, Scott Boras, FanSided MLB insider Robert Murray said that nothing has changed in terms of negotiations.

The Red Sox have already made some notable additions this offseason, bringing in Lucas Giolito, Tyler O'Neill, and Vaughn Grissom. Last season with the Philadelphia Phillies, he had an even stronger outing, starting 32 games and recording a 3.23 ERA while fanning 143 batters in 179.2 innings.
